Preliminary Designs
Here is my first set of preliminary designs. The tor right is a gargoyle monster which I had originally planned to do. The top left is a reptile monster which also would've made a cool design. Bottom right is a hand, which would've been cool I guess, would've made a cool prop. And the bottom left is my design, the Shark coming out of the water.
Top right is an American flag in a grassy plain, but I had already done an American flag design. Top left is a baseball bat which would've made another nice little prop. Bottom right is a blue eye, which wouldn't have really made sense with clay I guess. Bottom left is a palm tree, which would've been another cool design.
Clay Creature Reflection 8D April 12, 2013
1. I like my base as the water itself, because it can stand up well and won't break easily. I also like the design itself because a shark emerging from the water is intense and cool.
2. I don't really like the eyes all that well because a sharks eyes are slightly smaller so that looks a little unrealistic.
3. My theme is a shark, and it is emerging from the water. I did this design because its intense and shows a fierce emotion.
4. I have a small but long and wide water base, and coming out of it is about a 3 inch shark with a wide pinky depth mouth with big teeth. It's ferocious!
5. The sharks' face stands out as the overall emphasis, because it looks as if he's chasing and trying to eat a fish or fisher or something.
6. You can create a creature or some sort of pottery with your hands, but you are going to need to do it correctly or else it will explode.
7. At first I thought I was going to do a gargoyle, but this seemed as a more stable and still just as intense as one. I started to wedge then form wave coming up as if something was coming out of the water. I then wedged and filled the hole with the potato looking shark base. Then, I sketched the details on and put the eyes on. Lastly, I hollowed out the shark through its mouth to about pinky depth.
8. I would say this is a worth while project. I had fun, it was really cool to make another 3D project that shows emphasis and life. It was alright that you were gone because you just had a new daughter, but that sub was not that good, she didn't teach us the right things.
