1. I thought I did well with my construction and symmetery because it flew very well. I also had good pattern because I did it very carefully with lines and measuring.
2. I could have done a better job with placing my kite in a safer place, because people in other classes smashed my tails.
3. My theme is a Patriotic star kite, it was in a star shape, and was designed as the American falg, because I thought it was a cool design and it looks patriotic and symmetric and has pattern.
4. My shape is a star, I chose it because it went along very well with my U.S.A theme.
5. Red, white, and blue because those are the colors of the American flag. So I chose two main colors and white.
6. The positive of kite building is the creation and freedom to express yourself in a design of your choosing. You can take tyback, dowels, and tape and make it fly. The negative is that you need to be absolutley precise when measuring and cutting, and you may not be able to fix it if you mess up.
7. This project applies that you should think things through, take time with measurements and construction because it will benefit you in the end. Like in a relationship or a major purchase.
8. First, I had choose my theme which was simple but but gives a great pattern, next I began constructing my kite by precutting, cutting out the actual shape, and measuring my distances and spaces between stripes and layed down a layer of pencil. Then I filled it in with color, and I had to have good stroke technique to show rhythm. Last I taped on my fin and dowels, and put my handles on.
9. Possibly give an easier exceeding option, or more time if we had wanted to do a second kite or a 3D kite. Other than that, it was a pretty worthwhile project.
